LA Clippers Pitch #3 to Aron Baynes: A Defined Role

So if Aron Baynes isn’t fully committed to the LA Clippers after realizing not only does he have a real shot alongside Kawhi Leonard AND can also probably get more money here than in most places, then a defined role should push him over the edge.

As mentioned earlier, the Clippers are without any real backup bigs. They have some youth that they can throw in there but with a championship being the ultimate goal, there might not be enough time for their youth to develop.

Enter Baynes.

While he won’t start, he can rest assured that he will always have minutes as the second big man to Ivica Zubac. He will be able to spell minutes for Zu while also spacing the floor, something that Zubac doesn’t have in his game just yet. Given the Clippers’ need for more size becoming apparent in this postseason, Baynes can slide right in and give them that.

Next. 3 things that can seal the deal with Serge Ibaka. dark

Let’s review. The Clippers can offer Baynes a larger payday than he probably deserves, he can play alongside Kawhi Leonard as they try to get another ring together, and he will have a defined role. Those three should be enough of a reason to bring him onto the roster. Oh, and he gets to live in LA.
