3) LA Clippers S&T Partner: Dallas Mavericks

From the perspective of Montrezl Harrell, this is probably the most attractive situation – getting a nice contract to play in the Big Apple feels like it’s up Trezz’s alley.

Could we see a return of Boban Marjanovic to Los Angeles? Along with the fan favorite, Delon Wright could be the playmaker we are looking for. He can make the right pass and hit open shots, and he can play solid defense at the guard position.

We know that, despite the tussle between Trezz and Luka, the Mavericks are interested in bringing in Harrell in free agency this offseason. With effectively no cap space right now, a sign-and-trade makes sense here.

More importantly, like Toronto, we know that Dallas has designs on Giannis next offseason, and this move would not stop them from pulling that off.

Boban is a great guy and a fantastic player to have on your team, but he’s not the guy who can give you a ton of minutes at the backup big position. A move for Montrezl Harrell would give them an upgrade over Dwight Powell, who can play big minutes, and who can help keep Porzingis from overwork in the regular season.

This one feels like it makes a ton of sense. The reported interest from the Mavericks in Trezz indicates that they’re not happy in their center rotation, and Harrell shores that up quickly. In the playoffs, they’re going to play Porzingis big minutes at the 5, so they need to rest him and keep him from injury in the regular season. Enter Trezz.

In return, we get a ball handler who isn’t being maximized in Dallas, and who fits in super well on the Clippers. We also get Boban, who will play spot minutes at the 5, and who would get lost in Dallas’ rotations.
