LA Clippers’ Paul George is motivated after getting his NBA 2K rating.

Thanks to a weird, elongated season, we are finally just getting around to the annual tradition that is the reveal of next year’s NBA 2K ratings for players. As the next-gen title prepares to launch, fans saw how their favorite player’s regular season and bubble performance influenced their rating. For the LA Clippers’ Paul George, things didn’t go so well.

George’s rating was revealed to be an 88 overall. For reference, he was a 93 overall to start the 2019-20 NBA season. PG had a decent regular season but struggled in the playoffs. It’s likely that recent poor play caused his rating to dip.

It doesn’t matter to him though. When asked by Ronnie 2K in a live video what he thought his rating would be, George correctly guessed 88. He is aware that he wasn’t playing at his best and understood the reasoning behind his drop.

"This is going to be an amazing…. and you are hearing this first…. This is going to be some amazing, amazing training going into this season. I predict I’m at around a 95 by the end of the year."

Clipper Nation needs to hear that. George did admit to struggling in the bubble was in part due to mental health issues, so it was easy to forgive his poor play. Even so, it’s great to hear that he is so motivated heading into the next season where the Clippers have a lot to prove.

Ronnie 2K did mention that while 88 isn’t as high as PG would like, it’s still in the top twenty in the league and he has the fifth most badges in the game. George was a little more satisfied to hear the latter.
