The NBA has opted to resume play but Thursday’s LA Clippers game is postponed.

After discussing their options going forward, the NBA players have decided to continue on with the playoffs. While there is not a set return date as of now, we do know that Thursday’s slate of games, including the LA Clippers game six, will be postponed.

Yesterday, the world took notice as the Milwaukee Bucks opted not to play in protest of the Jacob Blake shooting. Once it became apparent what was going on, the rest of the league decided to join them. The WNBA and several MLB and MLS teams also followed suit.

The NBA players met last night to voice their concerns and to decide whether or not they would ultimately resume play. From multiple reports, the meeting was intense with both the LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers saying they would prefer to not continue.

Ultimately no decision was made and fans were left to wait until today for a final decision. According to multiple reports, the league has decided to resume play with an aim for games to start on Friday.

While nothing is set in stone, we at least know we won’t have to wait long for players to be back on the court. The players do want to find new ways to make social justice statements and will likely work with both the league and owners to reach this goal.

In the bubble in Orlando, the courts have all had “Black Lives Matter” painted on them and players have been allowed to wear a pre-approved message on their jerseys. While this was a sep and certainly meaningful gesture by the league to allow this, players obviously want more.

As more details emerge, including what considerations the league makes and when play will continue, we will let you know. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and continue to check back here for all your LA Clippers news, rumors, and more!
