Second round

We now move onto the second round, using the ideal scenario. The second round looks like this:

  • Lakers (1) vs. Rockets (4)
  • Clippers (2) vs. Nuggets (3)

Realistic, Perfect, and Likely

In the second round, the Clippers will face the Denver Nuggets while the Lakers face the Rockets. Obviously, in a perfect scenario, the Lakers lose this one to the Rockets who just get hot from deep while the Clippers advance in their series.

In a realistic world though, the Clippers put away the Nuggets in six as Denver doesn’t have anyone who can lock down both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. The Clips do struggle some with Nikola Jokic which elongates the series but still pull it off. The Lakers also win their series.

The more probable situation? The Lakers, coming off a hard-fought series against Portland are again put through the wringer versus Houston. The Rockets can get going from deep and will give the Lakers trouble in at least a couple of games.

Meanwhile, the Clippers take care of the Nuggets in six.
