LA Clippers: Kawhi Leonard arrives, team gets Sunday off
Kawhi Leonard has arrived in Orlando where he joins his LA Clippers’ teammates.
One more piece of Clipper Nation is now in Orlando in the NBA bubble. Kawhi Leonard has reportedly joined his teammates in Orlando after taking a few days to attend to a “family matter” that had been approved by the LA Clippers organization. JaMychal Green was also expected to arrive today.
Leonard and Green will have to undergo a small quarantine before they can join the rest of the team per the league’s rules regarding the bubble. Even though they won’t be back on the practice court, it’s good to know that the whole team down there and will be available to start working in just a matter of days.
Speaking of the team and practice…
The LA Clippers gave the team off on Sunday.
News broke on Sunday morning that several teams, including the LA Clippers, had canceled practice. Of course, everyone began to freak out thinking that COVID-19 had already breached the bubble and forced teams to cancel practice to keep their players and staff safe.
Luckily, that was not the case.
Instead, the Clippers just gave their players the day off to enjoy the resort.
As Andrew Greif points out, players are allowed to go and get shots up if they choose to do so, but the likely scenario is that everyone is out enjoying themself, especially Patrick Beverley who is celebrating his birthday today. (Happy birthday Bev!)
Paul George and Montrezl Harrell took the time to go out and go fishing.

Everything in the bubble seems to be going swimmingly (Yes, that pun IS intended) for the Clippers. Hopefully, this isn’t just the honeymoon period and the team can continue to both enjoy themselves and stay focused on the ultimate goal of winning a championship.
