Jamal Crawford – G

This is a fan favorite choice. Jamal Crawford had some of his best years on the LA Clippers during the Lob City era, when he won two of his Sixth Man of the Year awards. That era ended in 2017 though and Crawford went on to only play two more seasons in the league.

Since then, Crawford has been playing in pickup games in his hometown of Seattle and waiting for a call from an NBA team. The 40-year-old has been vocal on Twitter, claiming he still has what it takes to play in the league.

Crawford was not a defensive stalwart by any stretch of the imagination at any point in his career so, at his age, you would have to hope he is still capable of getting buckets.

In his last game of the 2018-19 season (the last season he was in the league), Crawford showed he could still light teams up. He scored 51 points in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks, which included seven makes from deep.

The only real value Crawford would add is if (God forbid) something happened to Lou Williams. He could potentially slide in as a scoring threat off the bench to help give Paul George and Kawhi Leonard some relief. Still, he wouldn’t offer that same pick-and-roll chemistry with Montrezl Harrell that Williams has and could become a ball stopper.

If that is what the team believes they need, there are other options including Joe Johnson who is two years younger and was on the Detroit Pistons training camp roster this past summer.

If Crawford is added to the Clippers, I would love it in the sense that he finally has a chance to get a ring. Outside of that, this would be just something to appease fans and to add a veteran voice to the lockerroom.
