If the NBA reseeds 1-16 for the playoffs, a Finals between the LA Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers is possible.

The NBA is still ironing out details on how the season will resume. The current scenario under consideration would put teams in Orlando, Florida at Walt Disney World to complete the season with playoffs being seeded one through sixteen. While this presents a hard enough road for the LA Clippers, the Finals matchup would be the most intriguing outcome with a series versus the Los Angeles Lakers being a possibility.

With all the hype behind the “Battle of LA” this season, how fitting would it be for the season to end in a seven-game series between the two to decide the champion of the NBA?

No one thought this would be possible and thought the final seven-game meeting would happen during the Western Conference Finals. It wouldn’t have the same oomph as we once thought given the series is likely to take place in Orlando instead of Los Angeles and won’t have any fans present, but it will still be momentous.

We have to figure that TV ratings will be through the roof if the series does happen. Given the star-powered teams are lead by four superstars in LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Anthony Davis and that the whole world has been starving for sports, everyone will be tuned in to watch the two teams battle.

So far this season, the Clippers lead the season series 2-1 with the Lakers winning the most recent contest. They were scheduled to face each other one more time but us getting that game is still up in the air.

If the season does come down to a “Battle of LA” for the championship, all of both Clipper Nation and Lakers Nation will be fired up. There will be a lot on the line, especially for the Clippers as they try and prove that they are a legitimate franchise that belongs.
