Comparing Jud Buechler and Landry Shamet

  • 1997-98 Bulls: Jud Buechler
  • 2019-20 Clippers: Landry Shamet

Sharpshooters that don’t see a lot of playing time but can get hot at any moment are key in the quest for a chip.

Jud and Landry both land in that category. Jud helped space the Bulls offense by spotting up beyond the arc with his hands ready to catch and fire.

Landry’s career so far has been a roller-coaster ride. He went from one contending team his rookie season that included playing alongside Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, and Joel Embiid to joining a rebuilding team that ended up making the Playoffs.

As we all remember, he hit the game-winning three-pointer in the Clippers 31-point comeback against the Warriors in Game 2 of the 2018 Playoffs.

This season, Landry has struggled to stay healthy and find a consistent rhythm whit his shooting as he has continually been bouncing from the starting lineup (load management games) to coming off the bench.

Just when the season stopped play, Landry started getting his groove back. Expect Landry to be there like Jud if called upon to hit some big shots.
