Comparing Bill Wennington and Joakim Noah

  • 1997-98 Bulls: Bill Wennington
  • 2019-20 Clippers: Joakim Noah

A third center nearing the end of his career that adds depth and leadership was something that the Clippers were seeking to add all season.

Before the suspension of the season, the Clippers signed veteran center Joakim Noah to a 10-day contract.

Though he hasn’t played a game for the Clippers yet, expect him to slide into the Bill Wennington role at this stage of his career.

Only used solely for specific match-ups, Wennington was used to defend taller, more mobile centers that Luc Longley couldn’t defend at the end of games.

Noah was added to help defend the likes of Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic and Rudy Gobert, all players that have given the Clippers problems this season.

Joakim actually donned a Bulls uniform the last time that they were competing for a championship alongside MVP Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, and Carlos Boozer.

Once Noah gets the chance to play, he’ll surely become another Clipper fan favorite with his relentless effort and contributions that aren’t shown on the stat sheet.
