Jerry West sat down with Ernie Johnson to discuss his career, the possibility of not seeing the LA Clippers face the Lakers in the postseason, and more.
Jerry West sat down with Ernie Johnson of TNT to discuss West’s career as both a player and executive, the passing of Kobe Bryant, the possibility of not having a “Battle of LA” series between the LA Clippers and the Lakers and much more.
The battle between the Clippers and Lakers in the playoffs is something that has been hyped up since last summer when the former added Kawhi Leonard and Paul George while the latter added Anthony Davis to pair with LeBron James.
West lamented that we may not get to see the battle between the two as he realizes the greatness both teams are capable of. West obviously has ties to both teams, having played for the Lakers and now having a role in the front office with the Clippers.
West’s worry may be all in his head though. Reports came out today that multiple NBA team presidents have every intention of returning to play. Another report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN said the league is exploring starting the 2020-21 season in December in order to allow this season to play out.
Yesterday, there was a report that the league was looking at Walt Disney World as a possible hosting site to finish out the season. They have also previously explored using Las Vegas as another area to continue play.
The league won’t make their decision without evaluating every possibility. Still, let’s make Jerry West happy. If he wants to see a battle of Los Angeles, I think the logo should get what he wants. We can all agree on that, right?
