FOX Sports Prime Ticket will broadcast classic LA Clippers games through the month of May. Here’s the schedule for when you can relive great games of the past.
LA Clippers fans jonesing for basketball action may still have to wait a while until they can see their team play in any new NBA games, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get their fix of basketball action in the meantime.
FOX Sports Prime Ticket will be broadcasting classic Clippers games throughout the month of May to quench the thirst of fans who miss their team during the hiatus. The team shared the broadcast schedule online via their official Twitter.
The schedule features games from as far back as 1975, with a contest between the Buffalo Braves and the Washington Bullets from April 4 of that year. Fans will be able to watch Clippers Hall-of-Famer Bob McAdoo do battle against Washington’s formidable pair of Elvin Hayes and Wes Unseld in a blast from the past. The most recent game featured will air on May 7 when viewers will get to relive a battle with the San Antonio Spurs from 2015.
Clippers teams of the turn of the century make up the majority of the broadcasts, with eight of the 13 games announced taking place between 1999-2006. Be prepared to get your fill of Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, and the rest of the bunch from that young, fun era of Clippers basketball.
Surprisingly, only two games from the Lob City era will be featured. The May 2, 2015 match-up against the Spurs, and an April 29, 2012 game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
While it can’t compete with brand new NBA action, and fans still eagerly wait for an announcement of basketball’s return, it can help pass the time for now and give us the basketball action we crave.
