LA Clippers: Patrick Beverley & Montrezl Harrell advance to 2K semifinals
We have LA Clippers in each semifinals matchup of ESPN’s 2K Tourney after both Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell won their respective games.
The NBA 2K tournament on ESPN is down to two LA Clippers versus Phoenix Suns semifinals. Both Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell won their quarterfinals matchups on Thursday, putting them against Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker respectively in the semifinals on Saturday.
In the first of the two games, Montrezl Harrell faced off against Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat. Trezz used the Portland Trail Blazers, citing his ability to score with Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, and Carmelo Anthony. He was right, beating Jones Jr. by a score of 71-66.
In Patrick Beverley’s game, we got the trash talk we all assumed we would get. What we didn’t expect was a close game. Beverley went with the Philadelphia 76ers. His opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Andre Drummond, opted to use the Milwaukee Bucks.

As you can see in the tweet above, Bev was extremely hyped up for his 69-62 victory over Drummond. The self-proclaimed best 2K player in the NBA acknowledged that Drummond had him nervous throughout.
With their wins, both Beverley and Harrell have advanced past the single-elimination rounds. In the semifinals and finals, players will compete in a best of three series. We know that Beverley intends to save his LA Clippers for the final round so it will be interesting to see who he rolls with in the semis.
He has a tough challenge in front of him in Deandre Ayton who eliminated Trae Young. Young had the largest margin of victory in the first round and looked like a potential favorite to win the whole thing but Ayton had other thoughts.
Trezz’s opponent is no slouch either. Booker is an avid gamer and has shown that he is very proficient in 2K. Both Trezz and Beverley will have to bring their best games on Saturday. Both the semifinals and finals air Saturday on ESPN starting at 3:00 pm EST. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and to check back here afterward for the results and all of your LA Clippers coverage!
