LA Clippers: Chauncey Billups and Chris Paul in HORSE competition
ESPN will host a HORSE competition on Sunday, April 12. Participants include LA Clippers analyst Chauncey Billups and former player Chris Paul.
The NBA continues to find ways for players to entertain fans despite the world suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. On Sunday, April 12 ESPN will host a HORSE competition bringing together current and former NBA and WNBA players. Participants include former LA Clippers players Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, and Paul Pierce.
The HORSE competition will see competitors broken into two groups. The groups will have head to head matches on Sunday from 7-9 pm EST. On Thursday, April 16 from 9-11 pm EST, the two groups will participate in semifinals followed by the championship between the winners of each group.
The groups will be:
Group 1
- Chauncey Billups
- Mike Conley Jr.
- Trae Young
- Tamika Catchings
Group 2
- Zach LaVine
- Chris Paul
- Paul Pierce
- Allie Quigley
Billups will have a tough time making it out of the first round as he is matched against Trae Young. Young is known for making some ridiculous shots in-game, so the thought of him shooting trick shots has to be frightening for a HORSE competition. Mr. Big Shot himself might have to knock down some tough ones just to stay alive. Hopefully, Chauncey has been able to get up shots while on lockdown.
Other matchups include Catchings vs. Conley, LaVine vs. Pierce, and Paul vs. Quigley.
Billups has also been acting as one of the Clippers’ color analysts this season when he’s not working in the studio for ESPN. He and Brian Sieman have been quite a change from the legendary Ralph Lawler but have done an awesome job as his successors.
Billups played alongside former Chris Paul, who is having a great season for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Paul was traded to the Thunder in a deal that sent Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets. Many did not expect Paul and the Thunder to compete this season but the team is currently in the Western Conference playoff picture should the season resume.
We’ll be tweeting along with the competition, so make sure to follow us on Twitter and to check back here often for all your LA Clippers coverage!
