The LA Clippers’ Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell will have to wait another day to play 2K as ESPN has rescheduled the quarterfinals for Thursday.
Originally set to air on Tuesday, April 7, the NBA 2K Tournament quarterfinals will now air on Thursday, April 9 on ESPN 2. LA Clippers representatives Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell are both still in the tournament and will need to pick up wins in the single-elimination round to advance to the semifinals this weekend.
Beverley looked liked one of the better players in the tournament in the first round. His 30 point victory was the third biggest margin of victory in the first round. However, he will be facing the player who had the largest margin of victory (52 points) in Andre Drummond of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
We know Beverley cannot use the Milwaukee Bucks as he used them in the first round and he has said he won’t use his own LA Clippers until the championship round.
Meanwhile, Montrezl Harrell faces Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat in the second round. Jones Jr. beat top-seeded Kevin Durant in the first round but neither looked extremely comfortable on the sticks.
The quarterfinals are the last round to feature single-elimination as both the semi-finals and finals will be the best of three series. Trezz and Bev are on opposite sides of the bracket so a potential LA Clippers final is not out of the question.
Make sure you tune in to ESPN 2 on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 PM EST/ 4:00 PM PST to watch the full quarterfinals. Montrezl Harrell will be in the second game of the night while Patrick Beverley will cap off the evening in the last game.
