The LA Clippers Montrezl Harrell showed he has some skill on the sticks as he defeated Domantas Sabonis in the first round of the NBA 2K tournament.

The LA Clippers now have two players that have moved onto the second round of ESPN’s NBA 2K tournament. Montrezl Harrell defeated the Indiana Pacers’ Domantas Sabonis in a single-elimination first-round match on Sunday by a score of 73-51.

Montrezl played with his own LA Clippers while Sabonis used his Indiana Pacers. Both players wanted to use themselves as they matched up. Sabonis mentioned he doesn’t play a lot while Trezz said he plays “here and there” but has been gaming more since the quarantine.

On another note, the two opted to use “Broadcast Cam” instead of the “2K Cam” that every other matchup has used thus far.

Trezz was effective with essentially every player on the LA Clippers. He hit mid-range shots with Kawhi Leonard, fast break dunks with Paul George, and even hook shots with JaMychal Green. Of everyone though, it felt like he had the most fun using himself. Then again, who wouldn’t?

And of course, he did it in tandem with his bench mate Lou Williams.

There was just nothing Sabonis could do even as his virtual counterpart started to heat up. After it was all said and done, Trezz earned himself a 22 point victory.

He will now face Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat in the second round which airs on Tuesday night. He will be joined in the quarterfinals by Clippers’ teammate Patrick Beverley who showed his own skill in 2K on Friday night in his victory over Hassan Whiteside.
