The LA Clippers Patrick Beverley will face Hassan Whiteside in the first round of ESPN’s NBA 2K tournament tonight. Here’s what you need to know.

FINALLY! Tonight, ESPN will be showing basketball. No, it’s not the live-action NBA we all know and love but it’s something. LA Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley will face Hassan Whiteside in round one of the NBA 2K tournament.

Bev better bring his A-game as the first round is single elimination. His matchup versus Whiteside will be at 10:30 PM EST/7:30 PM PST on ESPN 2. Check out the tweet below for a list of all the matchups and time slots:

We don’t yet know what team Beverley will select. Prior to the tournament starting, players had to submit a list of eight teams. Each team can only be used once during the tournament so each participant will have to evaluate how they want to approach the tournament as a whole.

Beverley enters the tournament as the 14th overall seed. Seeding was done based on each player’s individual overall rating in NBA 2K20. Even though he is seeded low, Bev has already proved himself as a 2K player.

In September, he won Paul George‘s celebrity 2K tournament, beating PG himself in the tournament’s finals. He even went the extra step and called out Ronnie 2K.

To no one’s surprise, Beverley is confident in his ability to win this tournament. He tweeted out just the word “Light” when the first-round matchups were announced signifying that he believes everyone else in the field will take little work to beat.

Will Bev win the whole thing or will teammate Montrezl Harrell take it? Do you have a non-Clipper sleeper pick? Let us know on Twitter and make sure to follow along tonight as we live-tweet the event!
