Though they have only been with the team for a few games, both Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris are fitting in well with the LA Clippers.

There’s less than a handful of games that Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris have been with the LA Clippers but both are already looking great in their roles. Last night’s victory in Phoenix is just the most recent example.

In the win, both Jackson and Morris scored in double digits. In fact, they were third and second respectively in scoring for the team, trailing only Kawhi Leonard with his game-high 24 points.

Morris has been as good as advertised. He hit 6 of his 14 attempts but did most of the damage from the three-point line where he was 4 of 8. He also contributed five rebounds and spent some of his time guarding Deandre Ayton when the Clippers went small.

Some fans were concerned that Morris might not grasp his new role after being the New York Knicks’ top option this season but he has found ways to help every time he is on the court. His ability to either spot-up or create his own shot is going to be extremely valuable in the postseason when teams are more focused on Leonard or Paul George.

Jackson, who only appeared in his third game for the Clippers, seemed right at home with the rest of the second unit. He doesn’t need the ball a lot allowing Lou Williams to go to work and does the little stuff like recovering loose balls (He had a team-high three, tied with Patrick Beverley).

Any scoring off the bench from Jackson is icing on the cake. Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, and Landry Shamet will get the bulk of the looks but on nights like last night where that trio isn’t clicking (Harrell led the group with 8 points), Reggie has shown that he is more than capable. He scored his 12 points from multiple levels, connecting on two of his four attempts from deep. He also did well at taking care of the ball, committing only one turnover.

While they haven’t had a ton of time to get into a rhythm, both Morris and Jackson are looking like excellent pickups by the Clippers’ front office. If they can continue to play at the level they have shown, Doc Rivers will always have a plethora of options to throw at opponents.
