Injuries

We can’t talk the LA Clippers’ season thus far without talking about injuries. Even if the team had been of perfect health, we knew Kawhi Leonard was going to miss time as he managed his injury.

Because of that, it was understood that the Clippers would drop some games while he missed time. We also knew that Paul George coming into the season was going to miss time as he recovered from offseason surgery on both shoulders.

What was unexpected was the litany of injuries he and the rest of the team would go through. George has had hamstring injuries three separate times this season, allowing him only to only play in 34 games this season. It’s been so bad that he and Kawhi have had very little time together.

In fact, they have played just 572 minutes together out of the team’s 2,655 possible this season. Add in the fact that Patrick Beverley is now out with a groin injury with no timetable to return and Landry Shamet missed time with an ankle injury and it’s easy to see why the team has yet to find any consistency.

This week off will do some good in letting the players recover but don’t be surprised if PG and Bev still sit out a little longer. Having them fully healthy for the playoff is all that really matters.
