The All-Star break has arrived and for the LA Clippers that apparently doesn’t mean any moves are done as the team is working out forward Evan Turner to potentially fill a roster spot.

The LA Clippers have made some sound additions over the course of the past two seasons, acquiring the likes of Landry Shamet, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris via trade from other rosters but have never truly dabbled in the buyout market.

Obviously any team can be improved and the LA Clippers appear to have their eyes set on Timberwolves forward Evan Turner as he set to workout with the team on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes broke the news early on Saturday and the possible addition of Turner would add even more depth to an already deep roster for Jerry West and company.

At age 31, Turner has seen his fair share of time around the NBA, playing with the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trailblazers, Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics over his 11 seasons in the NBA.

Turner is nearly the blueprint wing player as he plays sound perimeter defense but hasn’t shot well from outside over the course of his career, posting a 29.4 three-point percentage. He didn’t seen much playing time this season with Atlanta, playing only 19 games with no starts and only posting 3.3 points per game in those contests.

The former number two overall pick was traded from Atlanta to Minnesota as a part of the huge four team deal that sent center Clint Capela to the Hawks and Turner did not show at his opening press conference and has already expressed his interest in a buyout from the 16-37 Timberwolves.

If it does happen, the acquisition of Turner may come as a surprise to some in Clipper Nation but his veteran presence could be useful down the stretch, especially with Paul George’s nagging injuries that have sidelined him for chunks of time during the season, so expect Turner’s role to be a fill-in for when George or Kawhi Leonard need nights off.

It will be interesting to see if the LA Clippers decide to acquire Turner as the team takes a much needed break until getting back into action next week.
