Patrick Beverley

RS: Okay, so let’s move on to the other guys. We all agree Patrick Beverley deserves an A+, correct?

CW: Make that an A++

SK: Absolutely. I’ll copy from a tweet I had recently about Bev: Per NBA stats, the five players Patrick Beverley has guarded the most this season are Harden, Middleton, Mitchell, Tatum and DeRozan. While being guarded by Pat, those players have combined for 44 points and 14 turnovers on 13-33 (39%) shooting in 42:21.

LS: Patrick is the heart and soul, he gets an automatic pass for this season even if he didn’t play again

AR: That grade goes without being said, and the fact that Doc handed over some power (offensive play calling) to our point guard is the evidence of just that.

CW: The mentality he brings to the game is infectious and will be huge for us down the road. Remember how people would say Draymond Green was the most important part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, even though Stephen Curry was the best player? Same case for Beverley. He’s the leader the team needs.

RS: That’s honestly a perfect comparison. Kawhi loves him. His “he runs around like he’s got 50 points” is probably the most telltale sign that he’s a Bev fan.

MC: I want to be Patrick Beverley when I grow up. So yes, absolutely an A+. His defense has been great, the rebounding (especially offensive ones) has been sublime, and his shooting has been more than dependable. That stuff on top of the fact that he’s just the heart of the team.

LS: Only slight I would say is foul trouble, he’s amazing but those hands haha, always on a defender.

SK: I’m convinced Beverley gets 80% of the 50/50 plays he’s involved in.
