Kawhi Is Really Good. Like REALLY Good.

Kawhi Leonard put on a display Friday night in LA showing the world once again what a rare talent he is. After putting up 36 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals in 38 minutes the forward proved why he has the third most votes in Western Conference frontcourt All-Star voting. After the game, the team announced that he became only the third player in franchise history to have 36+ points, 9+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and 3+steals, and the first to do it since Ron Harper did in a game against Golden State in 1994.

Leonard had not only one, but two monster dunks in the game. The reigning champ ended up shooting 14 of 25 from the field and ended the game with a team and game-high of +15. There appeared to be a breaking point for the star in the fourth quarter where he hit an invisible switch and imposed his will on the game.

Kawhi doesn’t always appear to be interested in the games, and at times appears to be bored with the regular season in general. On more than one occasion this year though, tonight not an exception, he shows flashes of what he is capable of when his focus is on. And it’s so much fun to watch.

Doc Rivers and Kawhi himself both had very positive words about his lingering knee injury that has sidelined him for several contests this year. Doc said he could see a lot of improvement in the superstar’s overall movement since October. Kawhi said postgame that he was feeling a lot better when jumping and was hopeful he would continue to progress and feel more comfortable in-game motion.
