The LA Clippers are in excellent shape as-is, but if they choose to make a trade in 2020, here are a few options they could pursue.

The LA Clippers entered their 50th season expected to exceed expectations and coast to one of the West’s top two seeds. That goal of securing a top seed is still there for grabs as the season hasn’t reached the halfway point yet.

The fact that the team is 12 games above .500 with Paul George missing the first ten games of the season and Kawhi Leonard not playing back-to-backs deserves more discussion.

They have also not had a healthy roster for one whole game until the Christmas Day match-up vs the Lakers, which the Clippers won 111-106.

What has been the Achilles heel for the team this year is not being able to maintain double-digit leads and playing down to teams they should be able to beat.

According to Dan Woike of the LA Times, “rival executives believe the Clippers could be on the hunt for another physical center or another play-making guard.” He’s already linked the team to Chicago Bulls forward Thaddeus Young, a sizable forward with an average three-point shot.

Keeping that in mind, these five trades are realistic for both teams and may be possible with the two valuable salaries the Clippers can use in any trade scenario: Maurice Harkless and Rodney McGruder.
