Landry Shamet is set to return to the LA Clippers lineup tonight after injuring his ankle in November. His return will open up the team’s offense.

The LA Clippers have had a staggering amount of injuries piling up over the last month. Luckily, it seems like those injured are finally beginning to return. After Rodney McGruder came back last night for the LA Clippers, Landry Shamet will return tonight.

This news broke via Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Just three hours ago, the team had listed Shamet as out for tonight’s contest, but he is now making his return.

Shamet’s return is much needed, especially with both Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley having recently suffered injuries. Both are listed as questionable for tonight, but their status remains up in the air.

The team badly needs Shamet’s shooting. He has yet to play alongside both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, but his ability to hit shots from deep will be extremely beneficial. It became extremely apparent last night when the team barely escaped Minnesota with a win. George and Leonard combined for 88 of the team’s 124 points. Shamet will likely see a lot of open shots with both George and Paul on the court. Although we won’t see that tonight (Leonard is listed as out), we should still get a taste.

Shamet also gives the team a solid ball-handler, something they have been having issues with. Derrick Walton Jr., Terance Mann, and Jerome Robinson have all gotten minutes in Shamet’s absence. While Walton Jr. has looked like the best of the bunch, Shamet will be a much more stable option who offers a better offensive game.

Perhaps Doc Rivers thought to bring Shamet back against a weaker team like Chicago will allow him to ease back into the game, but regardless, it’s great to have him back on the court.
