1. The Comeback

4/15/19 @ Golden State Warriors

4 points, 5 assists, 4 steals

Was it really going to be anything else?

When I was pulling up the stats for this, I realized this was actually Shai’s worst scoring performance of the entire series. I guess the memory of that 31-point comeback has been tainted and I live in an imaginary world where every player scored 20 points.

Regardless, Shai showed up at the moment that this game mattered the most. Let’s roll the tape.

With less than 20 seconds left and the team down 130-131, Shai drove straight towards the basket, sucking in Andre Iguodala. As soon as he saw Iggy had committed, Shai threw a jump pass out to Landry Shamet who knocked down the three to give the Clips the two-point lead.

The team would hold on defense and complete the biggest comeback in NBA playoff history.

The comeback itself was obviously amazing, but what made it even cooler was the fact that two rookies were part of the biggest play of the game. Shai’s drive and kick was perfect. Landry’s shot was obviously perfect.

That highlight will be one of the ones fans see forever. Shai might have only been a Clipper for one season, but he is ingrained as part of the team’s history in a big way.

Next. 3 stats that should improve with Paul George's return. dark

Undoubtedly this play will be on SGA’s tribute video as he and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Clippers tonight. Make sure to show him the love he deserves, Clipper Nation.
