LA Clippers: Ten takeaways from the first ten games of the season
The LA Clippers are ten games into the 2019-20 NBA season. With an eighth of the season under their belt, here are ten things we have noticed.
Ten games into the 2019-2020 NBA season, LA Clippers fans are still pinching themselves a little bit, wondering if this is real, processing what this new team looks like and taking note of what we know so far.
While it is still too early for predictions or celebrations, ten noteworthy things stand out as the Clippers are on the precipice of everything changing again with the imminent addition of Paul George to the lineup.
1. LA Clippers Fans are Here for This
Notorious for late arrivals and early departures (is it really necessary to leave the game two minutes early to “beat the traffic” at 10 p.m.?), the LA Clippers fans have a new look —the stands are almost full at tip-off, and few are heading for the doors during garbage time. Fans are enthusiastically enjoying all 48 minutes and making their presence known. Gone are the days where opposing fans seem louder than Clippers fans. This is our house and we are here for it.
2. Throwback Uniforms are Cool
In honor of the 50th anniversary year, the Clippers debuted the Buffalo Braves throwback uniforms at their November 7 home game. Not only did the uniforms look sharp, but what they represent is even more important—a respect for history. The Clippers’ history has not always been pretty, but it is a part of who we are. Be it the 12-70 1987 season or the gut-wrenching Donald Sterling post-season of 2014, the experiences of the past make us who we are and make the present even sweeter. The Clippers are not running or hiding from the past, they are respecting the journey that has brought them to this point.
