After a long offseason of healing for Paul George, he’s about ten games out from joining the LA Clippers. Things aren’t as bad as they seemed after all.

According to Mark Medina on Twitter, Doc Rivers talked about superstar Paul George not playing for the first ten games of the season with the LA Clippers. As unfortunate as this news is, it isn’t as bad as most Clippers fans expected.

Paul underwent two shoulder surgeries during the offseason and was already expecting an evaluation at the start of training camp this season. Obviously, Paul didn’t get to see the start of  OKC’s training camp as he elected for a trade to the LA Clippers alongside Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. Now that the top-tier medical staff in LA have seen him and have worked on his recovery, George is looking great and his training with the team has been fantastic.

Last season, Paul George brought 2159 points to the Thunder in just seventy-seven games by averaging twenty-eight points per game, and his impact on the team makes it obvious to see why they signed him to a four-year contract. However, he opted out to come back to his home county, and now his playtime with the LA Clippers is seen as a huge factor in whether they can finally make it past the second round. His absence throughout the first ten games will be a tough pill to swallow for the team and fans alike, but there are some bright sides.

George has looked great as mentioned before, and the medical staff has worked tirelessly to bring back his health. In the end, the time spent on the sideline for Paul could have been much worse. It’ll be somewhere around four months for him since the surgeries when he steps back out on the court, and thanks to a long-enough offseason, most of it saw George getting better at home during the summer.

In closing, while PG’s absence in the first ten games will be one that most fans didn’t want, the work of the LA Clippers’ medical staff has done wonders for Paul George, and he’ll be able to get back on the court very shortly after a nice offseason of rest. Rejoice, Clippers fans, we’ll get to see the superstar duo of the Klaw and PG13 come together very shortly.
