What to be scared about in the Clippers 2019-20 season
Injuries scare every team in the Association. They should. Injuries are scary. They can derail an entire season, not to mention an entire career. On the plus side, the Clippers have built what has to be one of the deepest teams in the league. That depth means that few on the team are likely to play 80+ games. In fact, it might be rare to see all but a few plays 70+. Last season only Harrell and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played all 82 games. Williams and Beverly played 70+.
Don’t be surprised to see playing time distributed more evenly in 2019-20 in an effort to limit the possibility of an injury and to keep the team fresh for the playoffs. It is a luxury few in the Association have going into this season.
However, even the best plans are derailed by a dead spot on the floor, an awkward landing, or a hard foul. The Clippers are well prepared to avoid injuries, but we all know they might still happen, which if, of course, scary.
So, that’s the end of my article, but as I re-read it became clear to me that I was not going to end talking about the possibility of injuries. I could move the “scared about” section up, but instead, I decided to leave it where it is an add some bonus content.
You’re welcome!
Because, after a long off season. An off season that was, arguably, the most exciting in the history of professional basketball in Los Angeles, the season is set to begin. That fact is, by far, what has me most pumped, not just about the LA Clippers’ upcoming season, but about the return of professional basketball in general.
It’s finally time to lace em up, jump it up and hoop it up, finally!
