Clippers Duo – Kawhi & Paul

Both LA teams ended up getting their star-powered duos this offseason, and with the casts behind them, there’s no denying that both teams have the potential to raise up the “Larry O’B”. The Lakers’ duo is Lebron James and Anthony Davis, and for the Clippers, it’s Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Starting off with the Clippers, Kawhi and Paul’s stats are amazing, it’s easy to see why they wanted to play with each other. Kawhi won Finals MVP last season after an inspiring campaign that saw him total 1569 points off 112 three-pointers, a .542 two-point field goal percentage, and 439 rebounds. He’s historically been one of, if not the best, young players in the league, and right behind him was usually Paul. Last season saw PG13 total 2159 points off 318 assists, 453 quality free throws, and 707 field goals.

Aside from the numbers, PG13 and the Claw are two of the hardest-working players in the league, and they have their own reasons to grind out victories. For George, it’s finally getting that ring he’s looked for his whole career, and for Kawhi, it’s to further cement his legacy in the history books as one of the NBA greats. Together, they both share one goal, and that’s to win a chip for their home county. Knowing the abysmal history that the Clippers franchise and fans have suffered through, these two are coming together to finally give both the fans and the head brass hopes of a championship no one would have ever guessed they might someday acquire.

Lakers Duo – Lebron & Anthony

On the other side of the Battle of LA, the Los Angeles Lakers need no introduction to any Clippers fan. Most Clippers fans have that one Lakers fan that brings the constant words of taunting and jeering, and the Clippers have been behind the shadow of the Lakers since they first became the Clips back in San Diego. There was simply no way that the Lakers organization would lay down and play second fiddle to the Clippers, and back in the 2018 offseason, the Lakers acquired one of the best NBA stars of his time in Lebron James. Now they have followed it up with a young talent to beat in Anthony Davis in the next offseason.

Davis is one of the best players in the league to watch thanks to his flashy style and his always fantastic positioning. That positioning is the main reason he tallied 1452 points last season with 672 total rebounds. Lebron obviously stacks up nicely with Davis as one of the best players these past two decades, and his 32543 career points prove that well. He managed 1505 points last season despite battling age and injuries, and he made himself known on the court in every game he played in.

The Clippers went with two grinders that fit their hard-working style and the Lakers went with two flashy stars that make glamorous plays to go with their storied Hollywood worthy past, but which team got the better deal? That is a question has not been answered yet. The Clippers might not see PG13 for a while and Kawhi is still trying to fully recover from last season’s championship run still, but on the other side of things, AD and King James have suffered through their fair shares of injuries in the past. Both of them will have to try hard to get the other Lakers starters to play to the best of their abilities. To see who really came out on top, NBA fans will have to see who breaks first.
