Season Expectations

The regular season is hopefully just going to be a formality. If the Clips can make it through the year relatively injury-free, there won’t be an issue making the postseason. They might not make it in as the top or even the second seed, especially if they do load manage during the year. Playoffs are all that matter.

Is it really a championship bust type of season? That’s the question Clippers’ fans will have to ask themselves all season. You may not want to hear it, but Leonard and George are only signed for two years and a championship would go a long way towards convincing them to stay.

But realistically, how much can we expect? Making the Western Conference Finals would be something never before seen in franchise history. Making the Finals and losing would still be an accomplishment, albeit a heartbreaking one.

The team obviously thinks anything short of hoisting the trophy is a failure, but we as fans need to have realistic expectations. A championship is surely in the realm of possibility, but the league is probably the most balanced that we have seen in years.
