Number 2 – Paul George Health Update
Chalk this one up to something unlikely to happen but I’ll remain hopeful for regardless.
As of this writing, we have no official timetable on Paul George’s return. In case you missed it, George had surgery on both of his shoulders. When the surgery was performed, he was still on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder did not release a timetable but just said he would be re-evaluated at the start of training camp. Guess what? We’re at the start of training camp.
During the summer, there was a rumor going around that George wouldn’t be available for up to six weeks into the regular season. However, we have seen both videos and pictures of George working on the court with Clippers’ training staff.
While we haven’t seen him participating in any actual gameplay that the team has posted, the fact that he can do strength work and is getting shots up has to be a positive indication. We can almost guarantee that he won’t touch the court during the preseason for the Clippers, but perhaps he will make his debut for the season opener. It’s unlikely, but since we have no indication, there is nothing we can do for now but hope.
What is very likely is that the team just says something along the lines of “We’ll just continue to keep an eye on him and evaluate him as training camp progresses.” That’s still something though, right?
This will be something Paul is asked about non-stop when he has his press conference. It’s only a matter of time before he’s on the court in a Clippers’ jersey. Speaking of…
