The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to try and find a trade partner for Andre Iguodala. This doesn’t bode well for the LA Clippers who are a potential suitor.

It looks like the LA Clippers are going to head into training camp with only 14 of their potential 15 roster spots filled. News that Joakim Noah is no longer working out with the team has fans curious as to who will be filling the team’s last slow. After reports that Memphis is still looking to trade Andre Iguodala, it doesn’t seem like he is the answer to that question.

According to a report from the Daily Memphian, the team has reached an agreement with Iguodala who was adamant he did not want to remain in Memphis. The Grizzlies will keep him on the roster (for now) and he will not attend Media Day nor training camp while the team tries to find a trade partner.

For Memphis, this needs to happen soon. According to the article, the Grizzlies are taking 17 players to training camp including Iguodala. If he is not off the roster by the start of the season, they will have to move two of their other players. If they can trade him in the next couple of weeks, they at least get an asset in return.

For the Clippers, this news isn’t great. The team has the roster space and money (even if it’s just a veteran minimum) to add Iguodala if he is waived, but a trade seems unlikely. A trade would likely have to include Maurice Harkless, Jerome Robinson and possibly some draft pick considerations, which seems like a high price to pay for an aging forward, even one with the pedigree of Iguodala.

If the Grizzlies are hard set on trading Iguodala, it wouldn’t be surprising to see someone bite. A team like the Houston Rockets who are pushing all their chips in could be a potential suitor. Another team with championship aspirations, the Los Angeles Lakers, could look to make a trade but they probably don’t have the assets to give up.

dark. Next. Joakin Noah no longer working out with Clippers

With Media Day on Monday for Memphis, all eyes will be on the Iguodala situation. While it doesn’t look like the LA Clippers will be adding the former Finals MVP, there’s no guaranteeing anything. Check back here for all your LA Clippers’ rumors and updates.
