The LA Clippers roster currently stands at 14 players heading into training camp, which will take place next week in Hawaii. The team has been linked to several players still available that may fit their culture.

As the Clippers look to complete their roster heading into the most anticipated season to date for the franchise, there have been rumors and players that we will discuss that might be the final piece to the puzzle.

Free Agents

Joakim Noah

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Joakim Noah is scheduled to have a workout with the LA Clippers sometime this week.

His energy and effort match the team’s identity and most would say he is the logical fit for the last spot on the roster.

Read more about his fit on this team, here.

Two-Way Players

Johnathan Motley

Motley played for the LA Clippers last season. In 22 appearances with the team, he averaged 4.6 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game.

At only 24 years of age, Motley has the chance to secure the 15th spot with his size, versatility and already being familiar with the same system from just a season ago.

Amir Coffey

The 6’8, 22-year old rookie out of the University of Minnesota is a unique player that the Clippers have on their hands. The Southpaw is known for slashing to the rim while also hitting some shots from deep range. He has a serious case to make the roster.

Coffey showcased his talent and ability during this past NBA Summer League which took place in July. Expect to see his name called up if some of the backup wings are struggling or load management/injury.

Exhibit-10 Contracts

Donte Grantham

Another 6’8 forward on the list, Grantham was on the Oklahoma City Blue (G-League Team) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (3 games) last season.

Not really a big-time scorer in college but instead he has shown he can make plays with the ball in his hands.

A long-shot to make the roster, look for Grantham to be stashed with the Agua Caliente Clippers.

James Palmer Jr.

The 6’6 rookie shooting guard out of the University of Nebraska is also a long-shot to make the roster considering how deep the Clippers are at the guard position.

He has a nice stroke from three and is very crafty around the rim. He will be another solid addition and contributor to the Agua Caliente Clippers roster

Derrick Walton Jr.

The former notable point guard of the Michigan Wolverines, Walton may have a shot of securing the Clippers 3rd backup point guard spot.

He reminds me of former Clipper Jawun Evans with his small frame but the ability to knock down shots and be a play-maker. Keep an eye on him during the preseason should he get playing time.

Trade Market

Andre Iguodala

Though a rumor surfaced online claiming Iguodala would become a member of the LA Clippers on September 3rd, we are still waiting (not patiently).

Per Chris Herrington of the Daily Memphian, Iguodala will not be reporting to Grizzlies training camp but instead, stay on the trade market.

The looks of a trade between the Clippers and Grizzlies for Iggy seem to be at a stall for now but this isn’t the last time will hear his name brought up.

Buyout Market

Expect the Clippers to be very active around the trade deadline with the buyout market. Of course, the team has added two players through the buyout market/claim in Rodney McGruder (formerly of the Miami Heat) and Patrick Patterson (formerly of the OKC Thunder).

Next. Windhorst, NBA Execs all say Clippers are deeper than Lakers. dark

The Clippers may just stick with 14 players heading into the season but these are the guys to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
