The LA Clippers had a dominant closing lineup last season, and with the additions of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the roster, that’s only going to look better this season. Therefore, the lineup I’m most excited about is as follows:

  • PG: Patrick Beverley
  • SG: Lou Williams
  • SF: Kawhi Leonard
  • PF: Paul George
  • C: Montrezl Harrell

This lineup is stacked from top to bottom with cold-blooded killers. Beverley is known for being a hound on the defensive side of the floor and could defend even the biggest and beefiest of players if he set his mind to it. Sweet Lou has never seen a shot he couldn’t make. Leonard is arguably the best player in basketball. George isn’t far behind in that conversation. And Harrell, well, Clippers fans have been lucky enough to have a front-row seat to his takeover.

Every single one of these players is terrifying, and they’re the ones that I would prefer to have close games out. Beverley, Leonard, and George are there to carry the defense and take on the more difficult assignments, and Williams and Harrell are there to bring one of the league’s best one-two punches. Surrounding that kind of production with MVP-caliber talent is downright scary.

There is a weakness here, and that’s height. George is the tallest of this group, which means it could struggle against some of the league’s more dominant big men.

It excels in speed and versatility, however, which could give the Clippers the edge regardless of the opponent.

Next. How much does this preseason matter for the LA Clippers?. dark

Maybe it’s wrong to have this many dominant players in the same lineup, maybe it’s not. Either way, this group is going to get a fair amount of minutes together, and I can’t wait to see what they’re capable of together.
