LA Clippers 2019-20 Schedule: February brings a mixed bag of games
February 22-28
After a much deserved break, the team gets back to work with a slate of easier games.
February 22 – vs. Sacramento Kings
Okay, I said “easier” games, but Sacramento is no pushover. Still, the Clippers should be eager to get back on the court for this one. Being back home and well rested is quite the combination, so the Clips win this one.
February 24 – vs. Memphis Grizzlies
This game and the next one are what I meant by easy. The Grizzlies have promising youth in Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant, but they won’t be too competitive for the time being. The Clips should be able to put them away pretty quickly, buying some rest for their key players.
February 26 – @ Phoenix Suns
The Clips leave Staples for one quick road game in Arizona. The Suns will be at the bottom of the Western Conference with the Grizzlies. LA shouldn’t have any trouble here either. All they have to do is send a couple of double teams towards Devin Booker, right?
Clips win big.
February 28 – vs. Denver Nuggets
The final game of February comes against one of the top teams in the Conference. With a dominant center in Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets are going to pose a big threat. He’s the top center in the league depending on who you ask and should cause a lot of problems for LA.
Last season in four games versus the Clips, Jokic averaged 20 points per game, 11 rebounds, 5.25 assists and 1.5 blocks. Three of those four games were victories for the Nuggets. Even though the Clips added star power this summer, it’s safe to say he has their number.
Jokic proves too much for LA and the team drops the last game of the month prior to heading into a very tough stretch.
