Clippers Schedule Breakdown – December
By Ethan Smith
December’s schedule features a Christmas day Lakers game and it may be the month where we first see a fully healthy LA Clippers team in the 2019 season.
The LA Clippers schedule breakdown here at Clipperholics continues with the most wonderful month of the year, December of the 2019 NBA season.
The Clippers will play 15 games in the month of December with a long east coast road stretch, a Christmas day matchup with the Lakers and a New Year’s Eve game capping off the highlights of the month.
With the season beginning late into October and Paul George‘s shoulder injury lingering and his status unknown, December may be the first month of the season where we see a fully healthy Clippers squad that will feature Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and a superb supporting class.
With everything said, let’s take a look at the Clippers 2019 December schedule.
December 1-3: Home vs. Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers
The month begins fresh off of a three game road trip in Texas as the Clippers come home to face Bradley Beal and the Wizards.
The Wizards are expected to be pretty bad this season so after a pretty rough road trip, the Clippers should welcome a beatable opponent to Staples Center to get things rolling into December.
Expect a big game from Kawhi Leonard in this one and the possibility of either Kawhi or Patrick Beverley to stick Beal for most of the game.
The Clippers will win this won convincingly and get off to a 1-0 start to begin the month.
The Clippers will again play another home game against a guard heavy team when the Trail Blazers come into town.
The Clippers and Trail Blazers usually have fun games but with the Clippers having the home-court advantage and seemingly being the better team on paper, I would expect another fun contest for the Clippers and another win with Kawhi Leonard coming out and having a superb game again.
The Blazers could also be a probable playoff matchup for the Clippers so paying close attention to these games could be key to what the Clippers will deal with in the postseason.
