Thursday, November 14th – @ New Orleans
The Pelicans have an entirely different look now because of the Anthony Davis trade with the Lakers. Because they now have a more complete roster and the #1 draft pick, Zion Williamson, the Pelicans are looking better than before. Some of the things that this team lacks are an experienced leader and team chemistry. Luckily, the Clippers have both of those things.
A matchup between Williamson and Leonard would be entertaining and effective. Williamson is listed at 6’7″, 284 pounds with a 6’10” wingspan. Leonard is listed at 6’7″, 229 pounds with a 7’3″ wingspan. Williamson is an athletic machine built unlike any NBA player we have seen, but as you can see, Kawhi has.
I predict that the Clippers will defeat the Pelicans in this away game, but it will be interesting to see how all of the young guns in New Orleans do against LA.
Saturday, November 16th – vs. Atlanta
The Hawks had a quiet offseason other than signing Jabari Parker and Vince Carter to the team. They added some new young stars to their roster in Cam Reddish and De’Andre Hunter but Trae Young will still have most of the spotlight and pressure on him because of a successful rookie year.
Of all the November games, the Clippers probably have the biggest advantage in skill over the Hawks. Due to their quiet offseason, we can assume that the Hawks aren’t aiming for the NBA Finals or possibly even the playoffs. The opposite, a tanking season for another high draft pick is likely the case.
The Clippers should be able to defeat this team fairly easily.
