Wednesday, November 5th – vs. Milwaukee
This is the first time that the Clippers will face the 2019 NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. Like the previous bout, this game will take place at home. The Bucks had a much more impressive season than the Jazz last year, going 60-22, but were stopped by Kawhi Leonard in the playoffs.
Though Kawhi was able to defeat Giannis and the Bucks in the playoffs, I’m not sure if he will be able to here. Because of the Bucks advantage in team chemistry and Giannis’ overall ability, I predict that the Bucks will defeat the Clippers.
Regardless of what happens, this game will be one of the most entertaining yet.
Thursday, November 6th – vs. Portland
To wrap up the first back-to-back of November, the Clippers will be facing the Portland Trailblazers.
Portland recently acquired Hassan Whiteside by sending Meyers Leonard and Maurice Harkless to Miami. The team made this move in an attempt to replace their injured star center, Josef Nurkic, who likely won’t return until January or February.
Teams normally have to find a way to contain Portland’s backcourt duo of Lillard and McCollum, but LA has already prepared. Patrick Beverley and Kawhi Leonard have the defensive ability to keep Portland’s star duo from going off.
This game should be close, but I have faith that the Clippers can perform better as a whole and defeat the Trailblazers in this game. A three-day break follows this bout before the teams next game.
