The LA Clippers already have one of the deepest teams in the NBA. However, that does not necessarily mean that they are done adding to their roster. With a lot of available veteran talent still out there, we look at what free agents will fit the Clippers mold the best.
While the LA Clippers currently have a full roster, they are certainly still in the market to add some veterans that can add value to a win-now team.
With a team that is filled with solid wings, we will be grading the current free agents not only by their talent, but how they fit on the current Clippers roster. Some of the more necessary places of need for this team happen to be at the point guard position and center spot. Players that fill these roles will have a higher grade because of the fit, while those who may be just as talented but fill an already strong part of the roster will not receive as high of a grade.
In order for this Clippers team to finally get over the hump and reach the Western Conference Finals, and maybe NBA Finals, we may see one of these players reach an agreement with the team very soon. Now, lets take a look at some of the possible future Clippers.
Carmelo Anthony
Yes, we just went there. Even though Carmelo Anthony is a legend of the past, he still deserves to be on a roster for an NBA team. I believe he still has something left in the tank and could benefit an NBA squad, maybe even a contender.
That being said, he should NOT be a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. It has been speculated that the best way for Anthony to contribute to a current team would be to fully embrace a 6th man role with a team that needs one. The Clippers do not fit that bill.
They had two of the three finalists for the 2018-2019 6th Man of the Year award, Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell. This is a team that needs to focus on integrating their new superstar additions to the starting lineup, not finding a role for a past-prime player.
Hopefully, Anthony will find himself playing for someone when October comes around. However, hopefully that team is not the Los Angeles Clippers.
