LA Clippers 2019-20 Schedule Breakdown: October
Monday, October 28 – vs. Charlotte Hornets
I almost wrote on the last slide that Phoenix would be the easiest game of the month for the Clippers and then I realized who they played next.
This summer, the Hornets lost Kemba Walker and added Terry Rozier, giving him an abysmal contract. Stuck in salary cap hell, the Hornets are just flat out bad. Nicolas Batum doesn’t play to the level he is played and Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller are backup level players playing starters minutes.
The lone bright spot is Miles Bridges, who was an electrifying player in his rookie season.
Now, look. I’m not saying the Clippers need to or even should load manage only four games into the season. But honestly, could you blame them? The Hornets should be beatable even if Kawhi doesn’t step on the court.
Two games in a row against Phoenix and Charlotte is the perfect way to work out any kinks exposed during the tough first two games of the year, so maybe Doc just uses them as “practices” where he can try some different lineup combinations while not worrying about dropping the game.
Clips win again easily.
