The LA Clippers will face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in October 22 to open the 2019-20 NBA season.

As the 2019-2020 NBA Season looms, this could be the most anticipated season yet, at least in recent memory. Opening night games such as Lakers/Clippers and Raptors/Pelicans were announced to commence on October 22nd, 2019 by NBA Insider, Shams Charania. With incredible lineups on both sides, these games will be watched by every NBA fan, but we all know the Lakers/Clippers rivalry is going to be the most encapsulating for the whole NBA.

Interestingly enough, this years opening night will be six days later than last years. This is probably being done to drive up ratings and feverous waiting. Also, the matchup is going to be something the NBA hasn’t seen, and since the Clippers are at home, the Lakers will claim their home court at Staples on Christmas Day. The spotlight is on Los Angeles.

The Clippers match up with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the Lakers’ Anthony Davis and LeBron James is going to be debated throughout the NBA season but will encompass on the first touch of an NBA basketball for the 2019-2020 season. Both duos have extreme talent, and their caliber to give you a show is going to be heavily waited for. The Clippers overall team will give the Lakers a run for their money and the Battle of Los Angeles will finally commence.

Although the Lakers/Clippers open the NBA season, one of the stars won’t be playing. Paul George suffered a shoulder injury during his time playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. On June 11th, 2019, George underwent a successful left shoulder surgery to repair tendons. The injury resurfaced on April 9th playing against the Houston Rockets with the incumbent task of defending James Harden. He was out indefinably for the remainder of the season, but this off-season he said to have been going through a very positive process recovering.

Opening night is going to give everyone watching, whether it be live in the stands watching  or sitting next to the TV with some friends, some serious chills through their spine. The League is going to do every single kind of speculation on this match up and what could happen, but in reality, time will tell and the day will come where the show will start. October 22nd, we wait for the League to be blown right open with the best players in the League battling it out.
