As the offseason moves unfold, the LA Clippers have secured their definitive roster spots, but could a veteran like Brandon Jennings be a complement?

The LA Clippers roster, as of now, is intricately set up for a championship run. The bench could benefit from a scorer like Brandon Jennings, especially with the offense he provides. Recently, Jennings was asked on Instagram if he’d come back to the league which team would be the best fit for him — to which he responded with “the Clippers”.

Jennings is a Lou Williams-type scorer and streak hitter. He loves to play in those small ball roles off of the bench when the team needs points fast. He’s been productive in his latest years in the NBA, too.

He last played with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018, averaging a solid 5.2 points in 14.6 minutes per game. He only played 14 games that year though, so it’s hard to tell how he’d do over the course of a full season. His fit is in question, he’s a great offensive player but he doesn’t do much on defense.

The LA Clippers are going for a championship run, their focus should be more on the need for a big that can shot block, right behind Ivica Zubac. They need another Montrezl Harrell type player who can stretch the floor, rebound and dominate in the paint. This could be someone like Dwight Howard, who is aging at 33 but could have some more seasons left in the tank.

They already have a lot of offensive power up front in the starting lineup and off the bench, and Jennings could add more. He’s not the player that Williams is, and his three-point shot has been lacking in recent years, but he could be good as a third-stringer.

The Clippers should probably hold off on the idea of adding Jennings as of now. But if they have the right pieces and find a true center, his fit could be complementary. That being said, the Clippers are solid and don’t need to make any more significant changes to the roster. If they pick up Jennings, they pick him up. They gain another scorer. Not much more can be said.

If the LA Clippers are interested in adding another point guard to the roster, someone like Shaun Livingston may be a better fit, especially since he wants to be here.
