Montrezl Harrell – Barbarian

This was one of the easiest comparisons for me to make.

In DND, Barbarians get their strength from rage; when the situation demands it, they can channel this deep-seated anger to give them more strength, more agility. They become more resistant to harm, with attacks bouncing off of them while they rage.

The clear analog to this is Montrezl Harrell and his Energizer Bunny levels of energy. Look at Trezz at pure face value. He’s a 6’8 center; he shouldn’t be able to compete in the land of giants down in the post.

But this dude never quits. He’s got energy for days, and he uses that to outwork and outhustle everybody else on the court. He bounces off of opponents as he works the post, absorbing contact that would knock a lot of guys off-balance and finishes at the rim. That insane motor works for Trezz the way rage works for a Barbarian in RPGs.

As far as subclasses go, he’s most similar to an Ancestral Guardian Barbarian. An Ancestral Guardian Barbarian draws from their family and their ancestors to give them the strength they need. That sounds pretty familiar to those who follow Trezz on Twitter. He’s very open about how much his kids are his inspiration.
