Patrick Beverley – Fighter

We already discussed up above what a Fighter does. I think Bev is a Fighter as well as Kawhi, but totally different subclasses.

While Kawhi is the Battlemaster, moving the chess pieces and making sure he’s set up for success, I think that Beverley is a Champion subclass.

The Champion is much different than the Battlemaster. The Champion is a Fighter who doesn’t bother with trying to manipulate the situation, who doesn’t worry about anything except for winning the battle between him and his opponent through sheer force of will.

That sounds like Beverley to a T. Wherever he is, Pat plays hard and goes at 150 miles per hour until the game is over. There’s zero quit. There’s zero back down. Remember him demanding to guard LeBron against the Lakers? Remember him taking the KD assignment in the playoffs?

A Champion is supposed to be a master of one-on-one combat, no matter the situation or the surrounding area. From Ukraine to Greece to Miami to Houston to LA, Pat Bev always plays his heart out, and he’s giving 100% at all times. That’s a Champion that I want on my side.
