Landry Shamet – Ranger

In DND, Rangers are characters who are well traveled and often fight at range, using bows or crossbows.

Landry Shamet is already on his second team going into his second year (and hopefully he’ll stay here for a while). Of course, the natural comparison here is fighting at range. A Ranger is most dangerous when they’re away from the fight, firing arrows from afar. Landry Shamet is most dangerous from the 3 point line, shooting 42% on 5 threes attempted per game.

That’s really all the comparison I needed to call Shamet a Ranger, but we can actually go a bit further here.

There’s a subclass of Ranger called Hunter. Hunters have the choice of choosing an ability called “Giant Slayer” which lets them get extra attacks to kill the biggest of enemies. Hmm, being able to do the most damage when you’re facing the toughest of foes…

I rest my case.
