7. Golden State Warriors
This is the last borderline team to feature on the list, in my opinion. Everything after will be used heavily online.
The Warriors plummet down the 2k rankings after being the most popular team for the past several years. To start the year, players will have to heavily rely on Stephen Curry threes to get them victories online. D’Angelo Russell will also be able to shoulder the load on the offensive end, but both will get torn up defensively.
Once Klay Thompson is able to return to the team after rehabbing his ACL injury, the Warriors may see an increased usage. Having Thompson, Russell and Curry on the court will be very hard to guard.
Draymond Green, while a good player in real life, just doesn’t work in 2k. He’s slow, not a great shooter and his defense doesn’t feel as impactful. He can maybe help in the playmaking if the opponents are hounding your guards, but that’s about it.
Kevon Looney and Willie Cauley-Stein will be good for some lobs and shot blocks, but the once deep Warriors team is seemingly top-heavy now. Players who don’t use subs will be fine, but those who let the CPU auto-sub may want to look elsewhere.
