1. Championship Potential

Isn’t this the most obvious reason of all?

With the addition of both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the LA Clippers have championship potential. Yes, the Lob City group had hints of this, but not anywhere close to the extent we feel now.

For a team like the Clippers who haven’t even made a Conference Finals, this truly means something. It doesn’t take much imagination from NBA fans to see just what a title can mean to a team who has never had one.

Just last season, Kawhi Leonard led the Toronto Raptors to their first Finals victory. Toronto fans were beside themselves and many felt that a huge burden was lifted from their shoulders. I mean, they didn’t even seem all that mad that Kawhi left after winning. They were just glad they won.

For Clippers fans having just watched what Leonard did in Toronto, having him in LA feels like a God send. While speculating all season about the potential of having Leonard on the team, many felt that a championship would be possible with just him as the lone star.

Getting George changed the whole game. Adding another superstar made a championship seem even more possible. It may not be something that comes in the first year as the team will need to gel and work through growing pains, but with both guys under thirty years old, there is more than enough time.

Getting PG and Kawhi means so much to Clipper Nation and there are so many reasons to be excited. Have more reasons? Let us know on Twitter and make sure to keep checking back here all year for your LA Clippers news and analysis!
