After taking down the Summer League Lakers on Saturday, the LA Clippers will look to keep things rolling against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The LA Clippers had a strong showing in their Summer League debut Saturday night, with rookie draftees Mfiondu Kabengele and Terance Mann stealing the spotlight early on. They’ll suit up again tonight as the Clippers look to keep things rolling and add to their winning record against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Kabengele and Mann, teammates at Florida State University, stood out from the rest of the roster in the Clippers’ dominating 93-87 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. LA led by as many as 22 points and never trailed, although the game was tight down the stretch as the Lakers fought back. Kabengele led the team in scoring and rebounding, recording 21 points and 10 boards in 25 minutes of action. He had the only double-double of the night. Mann, on the other hand, did a little bit of everything, recording 5 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block.

The two also had the moment of the night, when Mann threw up a no-look lob to Kabengele, who threw it down overtop of a Lakers player.

Mann’s performance was perhaps the biggest takeaway of the night — selected with the 48th overall pick in this year’s draft, plenty of Clippers fans weren’t sure what to expect from the 22-year-old rookie. Right from the jump, he was the most active player on the floor, making strong contributions on both ends of the floor. At least for the first night, he looked very much like a rotation-level NBA player.

The Clippers also got big contributions from two-way signee Amir Coffey (15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists), Nigel Hayes (13 points, 4 rebounds), Cliff Alexander (11 points, 4 rebounds) and Derrick Walton Jr. (8 points, 2 assists).

The Grizzlies played Saturday night as well, downing the Indiana Pacers’ Summer League squad 101-75. Bruno Caboclo and Keenan Evans were their stars of the night, scoring 19 points and 16 points, respectively. Ja Morant, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, did not play against the Pacers and will likely remain out as he recovers from a surgery he had in June.

Robert Carter, Isaac Humphries and Tramaine Isabell were the only Clippers players who didn’t get any run against the Lakers, so chances are they get an opportunity tonight. Jerome Robinson played a team-low 11 minutes as well, so there’s a chance he sees some more action too.
