Kawhi Leonard and Paul George – LA Clippers

Was there any question here? Kawhi Leonard and Paul George shocked the NBA not only because no one had a clue they would pair up, but also because of just how scary the pairing actually is.

The two players are the most complete two-way players in the league right now. Leonard is coming off a season where he led the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA Finals win and was named the Finals MVP.

George, who did fall short in the playoffs, had an incredible regular season which was good enough to earn him third place in regular season MVP voting. At 28.0 points per game, he finished second in scoring. Keep in mind, he was the Thunder’s primary scorer. With Kawhi on the court, PG could actually see a lot more space to score.

Speaking of Kawhi, it doesn’t really matter what defenses throw at him. Game after game in the playoffs, he proved that he could take anything. He nailed a buzzer beater series winner over Joel Embiid. He went toe to toe with league MVP Giannis Antetokoumpo. He de-throned the Golden State Warriors, effectively ending their dynasty.

This was all as the main guy with Pascal Siakim as his second best teammate. All respect to Siakim who will be one heck of a player, but George right now is a substantial upgrade.

These two will dominate, assuming they both stay healthy. With load management though, expect this superstar duo to be a thorn in everyone’s side for quite some time.
