Power Forward

If the LA Clippers’ plans fall into place and they land two star small forwards, then that means current power forward, Danilo Gallinari, will be elsewhere. They would need a new, cheaper combo forward to fill the void.

Marcus Morris (BOS)

Formerly known as Markieff Morris‘ lesser brother, Marcus Morris has put the league on notice that he is now the top Morris twin.

Marcus Morris was a fairly ineffective player until his time with the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 14.1 points on 51.9 percent true shooting and 4.8 rebounds. This was a big step up from how he played with the Phoenix Suns and the Houston Rockets, but his game took an even bigger leap when he was traded to the Boston Celtics.

In Boston, his scoring saw a minor hit, but on better efficiency, as he has averaged 13.8 points on 56.8 percent true shooting. He has become a more efficient scorer and has had games where he takes on the entire offensive burden when his stars wouldn’t have off-nights. He had 10 games of 20 or more points, peaking in a 31-point effort against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Morris has been tied to other teams far more often than he has to the Celtics. This suggests that he has played his final game donning the green and white in the TD Garden. Many teams will be interested in his jack-of-all-trade play style and his ability to mesh well with stars.

As long as he doesn’t demand an outrageous salary, the Clippers should prioritize Morris just behind the superstars.
